this is Tuesday October 20th 2020 we are still in unit to the United States and Canada and as we started yesterday guys we are going to be talking about limited and unlimited governments to start off with I would want you to look at the next light here you're going to stop the video for about a minute and I want you to give me your thoughts or what comes into your mind when you see this picture are you going to do a entry ticket in your nearpod and you're going to tell me what you think this means or what you thought when you first saw it take a minute stop the video pause the video right now think about it and what are your best thoughts guys what comes into your mind when you see this video or this picture here. have a constitution we have a document that tells us what our laws are in the document guide in in the in the Constitution guys it has laws that limits the government our government cannot do whatever democratic governments a democracy is a form of government in which the people elect and rule by majority guys in your head you should have bells and whistles going on because if we go back to our Frayer models and we discussed this yesterday we're going to look at limited government this was the definition we're going to talk about the characteristics the examples and the non examples so when I finish reading this section just the very first section many countries including the United States Canada Mexico have democratic government which section dies of the Frayer Model can we fill in with this information here many countries including the United States Canada and Mexico have democratic government a democracy is a form of government in which the people elect leaders and rule by majority which is the word that we are concentrating on today limited government is a type of government that has legal limits on its power usually in the form of a constitution you would go back to our freedom model guys we would list that countries that have a constitution are characteristics or features or these are the details of countries guys that have a limited government like the USA Mexico and Canada these countries have a constitution and we already said that the constitution is the law these countries that have a limited government where the government cannot do whatever they want listed in the Constitution so what is your name yes it is the law and in it it says that the leaders cannot do whatever what their power is limited and that's super important that's cuz we have an election coming up I just went and voted yesterday super cool that I could go as an American citizen for the leaders of our country we will talk about who I voted for later and write this important note because what you're going to find the Constitution going to find is the fact that in many limited government the individual rights of the people in other words your rights you have that you discussed last year freedom of the press the freedom of religion all of these rights guys guys are listed they are detail they are put in a list in the Constitution and countries with limited governments guys have this right have these rights are these losses listed or chose or written in a constitutional because our form of government is called a limited government it is also called a
